Career start was early in college and in the investigative sector, which included working for the FBI in a non-agent position; then as a paid staff assistant on a Congressional Campaign (main job task was to discreetly collect information on the Democratic Congressional opponent candidate's campaign) and report to retired Green Beret Lt. Colonel Charlie Gregor, the Campaign Manager for a popular Republican U.S. Congressional Campaign in Kansas; and an internship with the U.S. Marshal's Service, mostly conducted research on fugitives, which led to a paid part-time job on a security detail assisting U.S. Deputy Marshals transport high-risk federal prisoners to and from Leavenworth Penitentiary to federal court in Topeka, Kansas. After college, while waiting to start Officer Candidate School in the U.S. Marine Corps, worked as a staff member for Senator Bob Dole in Washington D.C., performing various research projects on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

From the U.S. Senate, entered the U.S. Marine Corps (TBS Class 4-85) and served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. As a result of a disabling injury sustained during a training exercise, he received a mandatory separation from the Marine Corps and entered the private sector, and jumped at the opportunity to become a small business entrepreneur, establishing what would become a successful private investigation-threat intelligence (physical surveillance on persons stalking or making violent threats) corporation in Southern California in the 1990's.

Wolivar & Associates, Inc., California PI License 24090 ⎯ During time as a small business owner-entrepreneur successfully and ethically managed day-to-day business and investigative operations that included up to 14 investigator-employees (never missed a payroll or was sued).

Also served as a field investigative practitioner-operative conducting hundreds of investigations on high value insurance claims; performed executive protection; developed an expertise in TSCM, working with top private sector TSCM practitioners; secured hard-to-get evidence in high stakes and high profile civil lawsuits; conducted hundreds of physical surveillances; served on security details that included managing logistics and residential presence with A-list celebrities and UHNW families during periods of credible threats, which included stalkers; and served several years as a trusted private investigator-confidant to two high-profile UHNW persons; hired by high-profile family to assist in investigating high-profile double murder; success in locating and helping (with assist from human trafficking task force) get female juvenile teen back home who had been lured online from her home; and discreetly identified perpetrators and resolved an extortion attempt on client, to include ensuring unauthorized digital images erased.

In 2007 the successful business was sold, thereafter worked for two large national investigative corporations, serving as vice-president for one company; and managed field investigation operations and hundreds of private sector physical surveillances (over 22 full-time surveillance-investigators) and civil lawsuit and insurance investigations on the west coast.

Four years later in 2011, WA was re-established as a new corporate entity with a new business model as a boutique business providing high-level specialty investigations and physical surveillance. During this time also served as consultant-operative to Threat Pattern, LLC.

Mike has served as a private investigator-confidant to several high profile persons and UHNW persons and families since 1995. Past clients include but not limited to corporate Board of Directors / Political Campaigns / Investigative Reporters-Journalists (assist in public corruption and government abuse of power investigations re specific government employees) / Fortune 100 companies / University of California / California State University / Kaiser Permanente / Medical Professionals (investigations for defense side) / law firms that included Dentons; Lavely & Singer; Latham & Watkins; Kirkland & Ellis; Baker & McKenzie; Nomi Castle & Associates; Gibson Dunn; Greenberg Glusker / Dozens of Investigation and Security Companies; Gavin de Becker & Associates / Insurance companies Liberty Mutual, Chubb, AIG, Travelers and the largest Third Party Administrator in the U.S., Sedgwick.
